Route 195 in Mansfield has been closed most of the day on Tuesday following a suspected drunk driving crash that resulted in downed wires.

State police said the crash happened Monday night before 10:30 p.m. near Puddin Lane.

Troopers said they arrested 22-year-old Damian Hainline of Windham.

They said Hainline was traveling down Route 195, also known as Storrs Road, at a high rate of speed and passed another driver in a "no pass zone."

Hainline spun out of control and hit a utility pole and a parked car. His vehicle came to a final resting spot on its roof in a driveway.

At that point, state police said another driver was unable to avoid the downed utility pole and struck it. A third driver avoided the pole, but hit the downed wires.

"In total four vehicles were involved. Luckily no major injuries; some minor injuries, some minor property damage the extended closure due to two poles down a lot of wires down," said State Trooper Tyler Weerden.

No one was hurt.

Troopers said they smelled an odor of alcohol on Hainline and administered a field sobriety test, which he failed.

He was arrested for driving under the influence, operating a vehicle while his registration or license was refused, suspended or revoked, failure to maintain a lane, traveling at an unreasonable speed and passing in a no passing zone.

Hainline was giving a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 11, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.

State police said an extended closure of Storrs Road was needed to make repairs.

Police said there were five fatal wrecks over the holiday weekend, including at least one involving alcohol.
