Bridgeport Police said they are investigating after a music teacher was arrested after allegedly assaulting a student in a special education class.
Police confirm that 51-year-old Lydia Struble, a music teacher from the Thomas Hooker Elementary School, was charged with third-degree assault.
School officials confirm that Struble was placed on administrative leave.
Police said on Feb. 4, the parents of a special education student, identified as a 13-year-old girl, complained that their daughter had allegedly been assaulted by Struble during music class.
According to reports, the girl said Struble had allegedly been picking on her in class, calling her names and yelling at her.
Struble allegedly grabbed the girl’s right wrist and pulled her over to her chair, and forced her into the chair, police said.
