A home that isn’t even up for sale yet in Bristol has already been vandalized.
Brand new windows were found having been smashed, nails were thrown all over the garage, insulation was torn, and there is roughly $5,000 in damages reported at the newly-constructed home.
The home is located on Witches Rock Road, and was slated to be up for sale this spring, but depending on the extra work, it could be pushed back.
“Tuesday morning, one of my guys came in to start working and found all the windows broken in the house, among other things...trash all over the place," said James Burke, of Burke’s Building and Remodeling.
The most shocking damage was what was found in the basement of the home.
“There's a heater running in the basement, they knocked it over. They could have lit the whole house on fire. Thank God it didn't," Burke said.
Burke and his crew have been working on the home for about one month, and he said this isn’t the first time vandals struck.
“The first time we got on the job we had a stack of plywood go missing. I think that was adults," Burke said.
Not only does this set them back financially, but also sets them back time-wise.
“It will take a day or so to change the windows and move on them from there," Burke said.
A reward is being offered for anyone who knows who did the damage.
“We will give you $500,” Burke said.
Bristol police said they are aware of the incident, and anyone with information should contact them.
