It’s almost Valentine’s Day and that means love is in the air, but it can also be in your food.
If you love pasta, and want to show your love with food, then Mama Del’s Pasta LLC in East Haven can take your order.
"Every year, we've done a little bit more so it's slowly increasing, a lot of return customers, new people finding out,” said Brandon Marcucci, of Mama Del’s Pasta LLC.
The 31-year-old first found himself in the homemade pasta business with his uncle about 6 years ago.
"Well, our Cavatelli are really good, our sauce is unbelievable," said Chris Acabbo, of Mama Del’s Pasta.
They bought the old East Haven location that was once closed and revamped the menu to include all kinds of fresh sauces and pastas.
"My mother, my father both cooked, his family cooked - and everybody used to tell us, you ought to open a place, you ought to open a place and here we are, we opened a place,” Acabbo said.
Everything is made on site and it’s a lot of work, but they love it, and they said they love how the heart-shaped ravioli has taken off.
"Yea, we did it the first year and it didn't go over too well but the second year that we did it, I think we ended up selling 300 or 400 dozen of them,” Acabbo said.
This year, their heart-shaped pasta passion is spreading and they expect to sell more than 450 dozen.
