Police in Bridgeport are investigating their first homicide case of 2016.
They said Javoni Patton, 28, was shot and found lying in the intersection of Stratford and Connecticut Avenues around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Police said he had been shot several times, including once in the chest.
Patton's car was a short distance away with the driver's door open and personal items strewn about.
Police said Patton was transported to Bridgeport Hospital after they arrived, but he died after he arrived.
