GROTON, CT (WFSB) -

Two people suffered injures after police said a car crashed into the Ocean State Job Lot in Groton on Friday morning.

The car went through the front doors at the building located at 941 Poquonnock Rd. around 11:45 a.m. The vehicle stopped inside the store, police said.

Crews were able to extract the vehicle from the entrance of the building.

The Groton Ambulance and L & M paramedics were called to the scene.

Police said two people were injured in the crash with one of them refusing medical treatment. The second person was taken to L & M Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, police added.

Both injured parties were inside the store at the time of the crash, police said.

The Ocean State Job Lot was closed for the afternoon while employees cleaned up the debris. The building inspector’s office was called to the scene and said there was "no apparent structural damage" to the building.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the patrol division of the Groton town Police Department.
