A Willimantic man was more than three times the legal level when police said he was arrested for drunk driving.
Police charged 50-year-old Raul Linares with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, traveling too fast for the conditions and reckless driving.
His arrest comes after a crash on Main Street in Willimantic around 2:30 p.m. Police said neither driver involved in the crash was injured.
Following the crash, police said Linares registered a Breath Alcohol Content of .309.
“A BAC this high is fairly uncommon. We are very fortunate that this did not have a far worse outcome. It was 2:30 in the afternoon on Main Street in the city. This stretch of roadway is highly traveled and this crash could have been a lot worse,” Cpl. Stanley Parizo, Jr. said in a release on Friday.
Linares was released on a $2,500 bond. He is expected to be arraigned at Danielson Superior Court on Feb. 22.
