A West Haven man told police that an argument lead to him firing shots outside his home on Friday night.
Officers were called to a report of shots fired in the area of Eagle Place around 11:30 p.m. Police said they received several emergency calls about the incident.
Police located 37-year-old Andre Morales, who they said “lied about his involvement.” However, Morales ran from police and officers caught him after a short foot chase.
Officers found six shell casings outside of the home and seized his 9mm, which was legally registered to Morales, as well as ammunition from inside the residence.
Morales said he got into an argument with two friends inside his home. He said he went outside and fired off some rounds outside of his residence.
Morales was charged with interfering with police, illegal discharge of firearm, reckless endangerment and breach of peace. He was released on bond.
