With some snow expected to put a damper on the evening commute, several Connecticut colleges canceled evening classes on Monday.
The University of Connecticut canceled all classes after 5:30 p.m. and closing its campuses.
The only exception is the online classes, which will go on as planned.
All “essential” employees should report as assigned, however other workers should not report after 5:30 p.m.

However, UConn was not alone in closing early on Monday. The University of Hartford will end classes at 7 p.m.
"Individual professors may opt to conduct classes or provide assignments online when the campus is closed, so students should check Blackboard and their email to learn of any alternate arrangements," UHart posted on its website.

All evening classes were also canceled at University of Bridgeport and University of New Haven.
