SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) -

Buses were unable to start on Tuesday morning and that caused the school admiration to cancel classes for South Windsor students.

The district, which is coming off of a five-day long weekend, initially issued a two-hour delay, but eventually had to cancel school around 8 a.m.

Police said the school buses were unable to start because they were too cold.

Parents told Eyewitness News despite the reason, it turned out to be the right call.

“It was cold and then this morning I came out and didn't expect to see all the ice I was seeing out there,” Nigil Manhurtz, of South Windsor, said. “So, I think it's probably the best thing for them to just cancel it."
