SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) -

An attempt to snatch bags of frozen shrimp led to the arrest of a man by South Windsor police.

They said 33-year-old Anthony Grillo of Hartford was arrested Tuesday on several warrants.

They said last year, Grillo tried to shoplift two bags of frozen shrimp. He fled when he was confronted by store employees.

An arrest warrant was issued.

An officer said Grillo was identified based on the vehicle he was driving and a photo lineup.

While he being processed on charges in South Windsor, police said they learned he was wanted on five failure to appear warrants for other police departments. Those warrants were also served.

Grillo was charged with criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, five counts of second-degree failure to appear and failure to pay or plead an infraction ticket.

Police said he was held on a $25,000 surety bond and given a court date of Wednesday.
