WEST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

Police in West Haven continue to investigate a mother’s death as a homicide after she was found dead in her apartment.

The body of Keneata Nicholas, 26, was found on Saturday morning at her apartment on Coleman Street. Police said her body was found with significant injuries after a welfare check.

Her death was ruled a homicide a few hours later.

“She was a good girl. She definitely didn’t deserve to be murdered,” said Patricia Folson, who was the legal guardian of Nicholas.

Friends told police Nicholas’ son was home at the time of her death. She was the mother of two children.

Nicholas reportedly lived in the apartment with her boyfriend.

Police said they do not have any suspect information.
