A newly released study by a finance group ranks Connecticut's capital as the worst in the country.
The website WalletHub released its list of 2016's best and worst state capitals and put Hartford at number 50.
Researchers said they compared all 50 state capitals in terms of the best things each city had to offer.
They looked at 35 metrics, including cost of living, K-12 school system quality and number of attractions.
Hartford was at the bottom largely for its "affordability rank," according to WalletHub. That metric was 49 out of 50.
Its "economic well-being rank" didn't help either. That was 45.
The "quality of life rank" was mediocre at 31.
However, its "education and health rank" inched towards the higher end and was 21.
Carson City, NV and Montgomery, AL were 49 and 48, respectively.
The best capital on WalletHub's list was Austin, TX.
