PD: 3 arrested for marijuana growing operation in East Hampton

EAST HAMPTON, CT (WFSB) -

Three people were arrested after police said they were growing marijuana plants in a home in East Hampton.

A warrant was executed a home at 29 Wildwood La. around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

After entering the home, 32-year-old Destin Kelley, 30-year-old Julian Clark and 36-year-old Elizabeth Moore, all of East Hampton, were taken into police custody. Investigators said they were “responsible for the marijuana cultivation.”

During their investigation, investigators said they found three “grow rooms” inside the home with more than “56 mature marijuana plants ready for harvesting.”

They also seized the following items.

  • 2.5 lbs. of processed marijuana buds packaged for sale
  • Numerous high intensity lights and ballasts
  • An extensive irrigation system and a ventilation system consistent with the cultivation of marijuana  
  • Several grams of THC “wax” made from the extracted marijuana oils
  • Numerous drug paraphernalia items such as pipes and bongs
  • About $2,900

Kelley, Moore and Clark were charged with cultivation of marijuana, operating a drug factory, possession of over 1 kilo of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to sell marijuana.

All three are being held on $250,000 bond and will appear in Middletown Superior Court on Wednesday.

The Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force - North Central worked with the Drug Enforcement Agency and the East Hampton Police Department on this investigation.
