The Connecticut Special Olympics Winter Games were underway this weekend in several towns around the state.
Put on by Eversource Energy, over 900 athletes trained for months, and participated in the games over the weekend.
Several sports were part of the event, like cross country skiing, snowshoeing and skiing.
"I will tell them that Special Olympics is real good place to watch people play, compete,” said athlete Ray Holloway, who has been participating in the Connecticut Special Olympics for 17 years.
The games were expected to wrap up on Sunday afternoon with an awards ceremony.
