Shelton High School student killed in early morning crash

SHELTON, CT (WFSB) -

A Shelton High School student was killed in a crash early Sunday morning.

Police said 17-year-old Edmund Conklin, of Shelton, was involved in a crash on Bridgeport Avenue, between Crown Point Plaza and Long Hill Cross Roads.

The crash happened a little before 5 a.m.

When officials arrived, police said Conklin was found outside of the car on the road. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

The Shelton Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is investigating the crash.

Police have met with Shelton High School Administrators. The Shelton High School crisis team has been enacted.
