HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Hartford police said they have arrested a man in connection with an online scheme that involved him pretending to sell pets.

Quincy Wilson, 21, of Suffield, was arrested on Monday morning, according to officers.

Police said they had been covertly investigating a Craigslist fraud case where the seller advertised puppies and kittens for sale in the area of Groton Street.

They said he would take the victims' money and run.

Wilson was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny.

Additional charges and arrests are expected, police said.

Wilson is scheduled to face a judge on Tuesday.
