NORWALK, CT (WFSB) -

On Monday, Norwalk police said goodbye to one of their former police service dogs.

On Facebook, Norwalk police said retired police dog Arasz had passed away.

Arasz served the Norwalk Police Department from May 2008 until he retired in December of 2013.

He was handled by Sergeant Gulino, and “served as a Patrol and Explosive Detection K9 throughout his career,” police wrote.

Arasz also enjoyed his retired life with Gulino and her family. He spent his last moments "sharing a sandwich with his Sergeant Gulino while sitting in the rear of a Norwalk Police K9 Cruiser."
