Connecticut State Police said a 22-year-old Stamford man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Mansfield on Sunday morning.
State police said the incident happened on Route 195, also known as Storrs Road, near the intersection of Beebe Lane around 2:45 a.m.
According to police, Christopher Pineda was kneeling in the northbound lane of Route 195 when a car headed toward him couldn't stop quickly enough.
Police said the car hit Pineda, and then another car collided with the car that hit Pineda.
The victim was flown to Saint Francis Hospital by a Life Star helicopter, and his injures were described as serious.
The road was closed for about two-and-a-half hours as police investigated and reconstructed the scene.
Nobody inside either vehicle were injured.
