The governor ordered flags to half-staff on Monday in honor of First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Nancy Reagan died over the weekend at the age of 94.
The Reagan Library said the cause of death was congestive heart failure.
Malloy said the flags were lowered in accordance with a proclamation from President Barack Obama.
He said the flags in Connecticut will fly at half-staff beginning immediately on Monday and will remain that way until sunset on the day of the First Lady's internment.
Nancy Reagan will be buried at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA, next to her husband, President Ronald Reagan.
