A Waterford woman is facing charges following an ongoing investigation into suspected animal cruelty.
Last month, police took seven dogs from 28-year-old Aftin Perez and placed them at a local animal shelter to be cared for. Police said another dog was found dead.
On Wednesday, Perez turned herself in after being notified about a warrant for her arrest.
She was charged with eight counts of cruelty to animals and three counts of risk of injury to a minor and was held on a $30,000 bond.
