Illegal guns and drugs seized from Hartford apartment

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police arrested four people and seized four illegal firearms and more than 500 rounds of live ammunition from a Hartford apartment associated with the Los Solidos gang on Wednesday night.

These arrests come after a search of a first floor apartment at 908 Park St. 

Besides the firearms and ammunition, police also seized 442 bags of heroin, 12 bags of crack cocaine (42 grams), 83 bags of powder cocaine and 26 bags of marijuana (2 ounces). 

Police arrested the following people after the warrant execution: 39-year-old Magaly Perez, 35-year-old Benny Estrada, 20-year-old Juan Baez and 19-year-old Andrea Rijos, all of Hartford.

All four are facing multiple charges including two counts of possession of narcotics, possession of controlled substance, possession with intent to sell narcotics, drug factory, three counts of risk of injury to a minor, possession of high capacity magazine and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Upon inspection of the Park Street apartment, police located three small children ages 4, 5, and 8 in the rear bedroom of the apartment. Detectives involved in the search described the living conditions of the apartment as “deplorable.”

Department of Child and Family Services, DCF, was notified about the children in the home. Detectives said they located the drugs in close proximity to the children’s toys and clothing.
