Connecticut's Congressional delegation was honored during a breakfast in North Haven for its transportation efforts.
More than 200 local transportation advocates hosted a breakfast to recognize Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, along with Reps. John Larson, Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro, Jim Himes and Elizabeth Esty.
The delegation recently helped ass the "Fixing America's Surface Transportation (or FAST) Act."
The measure secures five years of federal funding for transportation and infrastructure needs in Connecticut and across the country, according to the advocates.
Lawmakers said it provides Connecticut with more than $500 million annually through 2020 to fund critical transportation projects.
It was signed into law in December.
The advocates represented chambers of commerce, the construction industry, building trades, transit groups, metropolitan planning organizations and environmental interests.
The breakfast took place around 8:30 a.m. at the Best Western Plus on Washington Avenue in North Haven.
