ORANGE, CT (WFSB) -

The Orange Police Department released surveillance video of armed robbery at the ice cream store on Friday night in hopes of making an arrest.

The robbery was reported at the Dip Top store, which is located at 263 Boston Post Rd., around 9:15 p.m.

Police said after the man learned that there were no customers inside the store, he demanded money. While demanding money, police said the man, who was dressed in black and wearing a white bandana as a disguise, was “brandishing a knife.”

The employee was able to the cash register and give the man an undisclosed amount of money, police said. The suspect fled on foot.

The employee told police he was uninjured.

A K9 was used to search the area, however police said it was unsuccessful.

Anyone who knows the suspect is asked to call the Orange Police Department at 203-891-2130.
