BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

Bristol police are trying to locate the person and vehicle that approached an 8-year-old boy walking Saturday evening.

Police said the child and his 12-year-old sister were walking along Martin Road around 6 p.m. Saturday.

The vehicle pulled over and a male driver asked the boy if he wanted "a ride home".

Police said the boy replied no and the vehicle drove off, neither of the children were harmed.

The driver was described as a white man, 50-60 years old who appeared to have a thin build, white hair and was wearing a black baseball cap, and a blue and white button-up shirt.  He may be driving a silver-colored Chevrolet with Connecticut license plates.

Police said a search of the area did not turn up any suspects.

Anyone with information into the identity of the man or the vehicle is asked to call the Bristol Police Department at 860-584-3011.
