SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) -

South Windsor police said they arrested a Massachusetts man in connection with a vehicle burglary that took place in Sept. 2014.

Jeffrey Linnell, 22, of Wales, MA, surrendered himself Monday morning on a warrant.

Police said Linnell burglarized a vehicle on Greenwood Drive.

He and an acquaintance then tried to cash a check which was stolen from the car, according to investigators. That's how Linnell was identified as the suspect.

The arrest warrant was granted.

Linnell was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and fifth-degree larceny.

Police said he was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of March 24.
