TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

An officer in Torrington was struck by a suspect's car while trying to serve an arrest warrant.

Police said it happened on East Main Street around 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

He was trying to arrest 23-year-old Kyle Treadway on narcotics charges and failing to appear in court.

As Treadway was approached in a driveway by officers, he fled in a vehicle at a high rate of speed.

That's when police said he struck the officer with the front bumper of his vehicle.

The officer was hit in the legs but only suffered minor injuries.

Treadway was said to be driving a blue 1997 Volkswagen Golf with Connecticut registration 264 XUE.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Torrington Police Department.
