As police seek eyewitnesses to a serious school bus crash in Hamden, they released the identity of the driver.
Police said 66-year-old Maggie Brunson was behind the wheel of the bus when it slammed into trees on Brook Street Wednesday morning.
The crash happened shortly after 8 a.m. between Wintergreen Avenue and West Side Drive.
No children were on board at the time.
Police said the trees actually prevented the bus from heading down an embankment.
It took them nearly a half hour to free Brunson because she became trapped inside.
She was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital in critical condition.
Police ask anyone who may have seen the crash to give them a call.
