A New Haven man is facing charges after police said he held his ex-girlfriend hostage for several hours over the weekend.
Police said when the victim arrived home on Saturday night she found her ex-boyfriend, William “BJ” Brown, inside her son’s room at her apartment.
According to police, Brown allegedly pinned the victim to the ground while holding a knife. He held her hostage until Sunday morning.
While she was being held hostage, the victim told police Brown punched her several times when she received a phone call from her child’s father.
When her child’s father showed up at her apartment, Brown hid and the victim ran outside and was taken to West Haven and police were contacted.
Ultimately, Brown was arrested and charged with home invasion, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening, third-degree assault, and second-degree criminal mischief.
Police said Brown has been arrested 28 times in the past.
