According to documents, police said Joshua Cordero said "I know what I did, I totally screwed up” moments after being arrested for the sex assault.
Police said the victim posted a Craigslist ad for a bicycle, and court documents show that when Cordero went to purchase it he “struck her in the back of the head and attacked her."
Documents said the victim was allegedly forced to strip and perform sex acts.
West Hartford police said the case against Cordero is strong, pointing to the verbal confession where he allegedly said “I just came to get a bike and animalistic instincts kicked in. I swear to God, I didn't mean to hurt her or nothing. I can't believe I did that.”
In court, Eyewitness News learned that Cordero works as a custodian and has a clean record.
He is being held on $650,000 bond and his family is still very adamant about his innocence.
