CT resident among those injured in Brussels attack

BRUSSELS (WFSB) -

A Connecticut resident was among those injured in the attacks in Brussels on Tuesday.

Officials from Congressman Jim Himes' office confirmed that the person injured is one of Himes' constituents.

The person received non-life threatening injuries in the attack, however that person's name has not been released.

The terrorists attacks at Zaventem airport and Maelbeek metro station killed 34 people, as of Tuesday evening. A massive manhunt was underway in Belgium on Tuesday night, as authorities searched for a suspect in the attacks. 

Several college students from Connecticut were reported to be in Brussels at the time of the attacks however they have been reported safe.

Quinnipiac University said four of its students were in Belgium and three of them were at the Brussels Airport during the terrorist attacks.

The school said it learned that the students, whom it said were women, were safe and at the U.S. Embassy in Brussels. The three students at the airport were studying in Ireland for the semester and traveled to Brussels for spring break.

Four other Connecticut college students were also in Belgium at the time of the attacks.
