WEST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

A man in West Haven is accused of threatening his father with a shotgun and striking him in the face with it.

Police said they arrested Matthew Magaraci, 25, on a number of charges.

They said they were called to a domestic dispute on Campbell Avenue around 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officers said they learned that Magaraci pointed the shotgun at his father, threatened to shoot and then struck him in the face with its butt.

Magaraci eventually fled by the time police arrived.

He was found a short time later on Platt Avenue.

Police charged him with threatening, disorderly conduct, assault, violation of a protective order and criminal possession of a firearm.

Magaraci was held on bond.

Police said the suspect's father was treated for non-life-threatening injuries by the West Haven Fire Department.
