Anyone up for some Raisinets?
Thursday marks National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day, according to NationalDayCalendar.com.
Chocolate covered raisins have been a mainstay for movie-goers for decades. They also are a favorite at the vending machine.
National Day Calendar said Raisinets, which are currently made by Nestle, are one of the earliest and most popular brands of the product. They were first introduced in 1927 by the Blumenthal Chocolate Company. They are the third largest selling candy in U.S. history.
As far as nutrition facts go, raisins are a good source of calcium, potassium, iron, fiber and vitamin B.
