(WFSB) -

Gerber said it is voluntarily recalling a couple of batches of organic food pouches because of a packaging defect.

The recall applies to two varieties of its Organic 2nd Foods.

The defect could result in the food becoming spoiled during transportation and handling.

Gerber said customers may notice that in some cases, the pouches are bloated and the product inside may have an off taste or odor.

The products include:

Gerber® Organic 2ND Foods® Pouches - Pears, Carrots & Peas, 3.5 ounce with UPC 15000074319.

"Best By" dates and batch codes:

  • 12JUL2016 51945335XX
  • 13JUL 2016 51955335XX

Gerber® Organic 2ND Foods® Pouches - Carrots, Apples and Mangoes, 3.5 ounce with UPC 15000074395.

"Best By" dates and batch codes:

  • 14JUL2016 51965335XX

The products were sold online and in stores.

Gerber said the recall does not impact other varieties of its pouches.

It said there have been three reports of temporary gastrointestinal symptoms. However, it was unable to confirm that a spoiled Gerber pouch was responsible.

Replacement coupons are being offered.
