A foot chase lead to the arrest of Plainfield man on drug charges.
Police charged 27-year-old Jequon Francis after leading police on a “lengthy” car and foot chase on Saturday afternoon.
His arrest comes after police said Francis was speeding on East Shepherd Hill Road around 3:30 p.m.
When police attempted to arrest Francis, he fled from the car on foot and dropped several bags of heroin behind him.
Police said when they searched the Francis’s car, they found several crack cocaine rocks and nearly a quarter pound of marijuana.
Francis was charged with was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with 1500 feet of a school, possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine within 1500 feet of a school, possession of more than ½ oz of marijuana, possession of more than ½ oz of marijuana within 1500 feet of a school, interfering/resisting arrest and traveling unreasonably fast.
Francis is being held on a $25,000 bond. He is expected in Danielson Superior Court on Monday.
