Vernon police are investigating after a non-credible threat was made to its schools on Monday morning.
School officials said the message received was similar to messages that have been sent to other schools in the state, which have not resulted in a verifiable threat to schools.
Vernon Superintendent of Schools Joseph Macary said “Our top priority is to remain diligent in our efforts to keep our students and schools safe and secure.”
The school district has followed school safety plans, and officials said there is an increased awareness for anything that appears to be out of the ordinary.
It is unclear where the threat came from or what it said.
