One man and two juveniles were arrested following a barricade situation in West Hartford.
Police said Malachi Ford, 18, was arrested following what police described as a "disturbance" in the New Britain Avenue and Westgate Street area.
They said someone was in possession of a handgun.
A number of officers responded to the scene and saw a suspect flee into a nearby home.
Police said they established a perimeter and asked for additional support.
During the incident, police said the suspect, who was later identified as Ford, jumped from a window of the home and tried to escape the area.
He was taken into custody.
Officers said they negotiated for hours with the remaining two suspects found to be in the home.
Eventually, the juveniles were taken into custody.
Police said there was never any risk to neighbors. However, the area was cordoned off as a precaution.
No one was hurt.
Ford was charged with second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an officer and risk of injury.
His bond was set at $50,000.
The juveniles were issued summonses for breach of peace, interfering and brandishing a fake firearm. They were released to their parents.
