A Bloomfield driver was seriously hurt in a collision with a police cruiser on Thursday night.
Police said it happened at the intersection of Park Avenue and School Street around 8:30 p.m.
They said Officer Alecia Aldrich was traveling eastbound on Park Avenue while responding to a call about a pedestrian being struck.
The officer collided with 2000 Lexus ES 300 driven by Dwayne Mclish, who approached the intersection from School Street.
Both drivers were transported to St. Francis Hospital; however, Mclish's injuries were said to be serious. he was listed in critical condition.
Aldrich was treated and released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
