Police in New Haven are trying to figure out how a woman lost part of her thumb on Tuesday night.
They said they were called to 60 Warren St. after someone reported that a woman's thumb was bitten off.
They said when they arrived, they found that 34-year-old Chante Levonne Tucker was missing the tip.
She appeared intoxicated and refused to cooperate with officers, police said.
It's unclear how the piece became detached.
Tucker was taken to the hospital for treatment.
