School officials said there will be extra patrols at Suffield High School after a student received a threat.
They posted to the high school's website that a threatening message was sent to the student Wednesday night. They said it was thoroughly investigated by police.
Suffield police told Eyewitness News that in addition to their department, another local department is involved in the investigation.
It involved a posting on social media, according to the superintendent.
"The situation is completely contained," officials posted. "Acting with an abundance of caution as a precautionary measure there will be a police presence at our high school [Thursday] as the police continue their investigation."
Officials said there is no longer a threat or immediate danger.
Police are still investigating the nature of the threat.
