WILLINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Following a traffic stop in Willington last month, state police said a search warrant led to the seizure of the suspected date rape drug and methamphetamine.

Troopers said on March 3, they pulled over a black SUV on Interstate-84 east for failing to maintain a lane and rolling through a stop sign at the end of the exit 71 ramp.

The driver was identified as Rhiannon Welch of Brunswick, ME. Her passenger was Wesley St. Pierre.

Troopers said they were given consent to search the vehicle. At the time, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, prescription medication and a half ounce of suspected methamphetamine were discovered.

Investigators said they also found $2,200 in suspected drug profits in a piece of luggage.

Welch and St. Pierre were brought to the state police barracks in Tolland for processing where troopers discovered that St. Pierre had a credit card that didn't belong to him.

St. Pierre was hit with a number of drug-related charges and identity theft.

Welch was also charged with drug offenses.

Both were held on $200,000 bonds.

Following the approval of the new warrant, another search of the vehicle yielded 1.25 ounces of methamphetamine, 15 vials of the suspected date rape drug, another half a liter of the suspected date rape drug, drug packaging materials and $100 in cash.

State police said they anticipated filing additional charges against Welch and St. Pierre.
