BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) -

The warrant of an alleged rape of a Sacred Heart University student shows that an 19-year-old woman thought the suspect was an Uber driver.

The arrest warrant alleges 39-year-old Alfonso Reid drugged the Sacred Heart University woman and then viscously raped her.

Police said Reid, who has a long criminal history, met the victim and her friends at the Golden Star Cafe, which is a Bridgeport bar, for the first time on the night of March 30.

Reid told the victim his name was Fonzie and that "he had worked at Sacred Heart University,” the warrant said.

The warrant states “they exited the club and they were given a ride by the suspect, who the victim believed to be an Uber driver."

Reid then drove the girls away from the campus and said he wanted to do cocaine and smoke marijuana with them.

The women convinced him to take them to campus, but the victim ended up going back to Reid’s car because she thought she left something there. The warrant states "once inside the vehicle...the suspect forced the victim to take a pill and drove off to an unknown residence in Bridgeport where he sexually assaulted her."

The attack has frightened some students, who are now more determined to stay together in groups to protect one another.

"It makes us more aware that we always have to be aware of our surroundings and make choices that we think are going to be best for us,” Sacred Heart Junior Olivia Traina said.

According to the arrest warrant, Reid gave his phone number to the victim when they were at the bar. That’s how police were able to track him down.
