HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Gray skies on Monday are leading to a soggy Tuesday.

Heavy rain is expected to impact the Tuesday morning commute, which is why Eyewitness News launched an Early Warning Weather Day on Monday evening.

Meteorologist Melissa Cole said it will be breezy and mild overnight.

Steady rain will cross the state during the morning commute on Tuesday.

"Because of the timing, you may want to plan for some extra time as you head out the door tomorrow," Cole said.

The rain is expected to wrap up during the mid to late afternoon, and some parts of the state may end the day with some sunshine.

High temperatures on Tuesday will be in the 50s.

The middle of the week is expected to be nice, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the mid to upper 50s for Wednesday and Thursday.

"Overnight lows each night will drop back into the 30s," Cole said.
