HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A former Hartford school administrator is accused of sending sexually explicit texts to a 13-year-old high school student.

Eduardo Genao met the girl at a school-sponsored event at Bulkeley High School and police said began inappropriately texting her.

According to an arrest warrant, Genao asked the girl, who was from New York, if she'd had sex before and asked her to send pictures of her breasts and other exposed body parts.

When investigators confronted Genao and asked for his cell phone, the warrant stated "he began to visibly shake uncontrollably and his voice trembled."

Genao was arrested earlier this week. He has resigned from his position in the Hartford school system.

A representative for the family originally reached out to school board members through emails and texts. But nothing was done until the family notified police, which forced Genao's resignation last week. That's when police worked on gathering the evidence they needed.

Genao is due in court next on April 20.
