HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A pair of University of Hartford students head to court on Monday for their alleged role in a violent attempted armed robbery.

Police continue to look for the two men, who beat up the victim, on the UHart campus on Saturday morning. The motive for the robbery attempt was marijuana, according to police.

The incident took place shortly after 4:30 a.m. near the B-complex.

Two men not believed to be students pushed their way through a dorm room door, pointed a pistol at a student inside and demanded pot. When the student said he didn't have any, one of the men struck him. Then the pair took off.

The victim was punched several times in the face. The victim declined medical attention when emergency personnel arrived.

Students on campus, coming off of their celebrated spring fling weekend, weren't talking about the festivities, instead, they were discussing the violence that broke out at an UHart dorm involving students this weekend.

"It is surprising. But I guess it just happens,” Jamie Korn, who’s a prospective UHart student, said.

First year student Mordehay Schindler is accused of knowingly helping the attempted robbers get in the dorm and escape. Another student, Tyrone Cadet, allegedly helped instigate the robbery because of a dispute with the vicitm's roommate.

The school was on high alert all weekend because of their spring fling. Security will not confirm Eyewitness News if that remains in effect.

Hartford police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

School officials said they do not believe any students are in danger and the incident appears to be isolated.

Anyone with information should contact the Hartford Police Department or the University of Hartford Public Safety at 860-768-7985.
