WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

People in Waterbury will see a lot of changes around town as the city green is getting a major facelift on June 1.

It will be fenced off for five months to install new benches, sidewalks, plants and utilities.

The $800,000 update will cause the pick-up points for the bus service to change.

Waterbury Mayor Neil M. O’Leary the city is negotiating to relocate the bus routes permanently.

During the renovation, the bus stops will be changed as follows:

  • Westbound line will stop in front of UConn, drive by the Green and stop at the corner of West Main Street and Holmes Street.
  • Eastbound line will stop in front of Sovereign Bank.
  • North to south line will pick up and let off at TD Bank North and Exchange Place.
  • South to north line will stop at 36 North Main Street
