HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

It was a frightening weekend at the University of Hartford where a student was held at gunpoint in his dorm room.

Police said fellow UHart students were helping the suspects plan and carry out the attempted robbery.

The university called the armed dorm room invasion an isolated incident, but they said they are still stepping up security.

In court on Monday morning were Mordehay Schindler and Tyrone Cadet, who are both University of Hartford students and are accused of helping two men get onto the campus early Saturday morning.

Armed with a semi-automatic weapon, the suspects are accused of pushing their way into a dorm room, pointing a gun at a student inside and demanding marijuana.

When the victim said he didn’t have any, police said one of the men punched him and took off.

Authorities said they believe Schindler helped them escape. Cadet allegedly instigated the incident because of a dispute he had with the victim’s roommate.

Cadet and Schindler were released on bond.

The university would not comment about their status with the school, citing privacy laws.

Police are still searching for the two suspects.
