BOZRAH, CT (WFSB) -

Bozrah First Selectman appeared in court on Wednesday morning on harassment and threatening charges.

The retired State Trooper Glenn Pianka was arrested last month after he delivered a letter to his family members, suggested harm would come to them.

Judge Kevin McMahon referred the case to family relations. A new court appearance is scheduled June 1.

Pianka was elected as first selectman last November.

He had no comment leaving court indicating the case is a private matter.
