One of the biggest names in golf has announced his intentions to bring his talents to Cromwell.
The Travelers Championship announced on Wednesday that Bubba Watson committed to play in the 2016 tournament at the TPC River Highlands in August.
He's currently ranked 4th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
"Bubba is one of our tournament's biggest ambassadors, and we're thrilled that he'll be back to defend his title this summer," said Nathan Grube, Travelers Championship tournament director. "He has a great history here, and fans love seeing him."
Watson won the Travelers Championship in 2015. He earned his first PGA Tour victory on the same course in 2010.
He has nine career PGA Tour victories, five of them since 2014.
Watson also won The Masters twice.
He's won more than $34 million in tour earnings.
The Travelers Championship is set for Aug. 1 through 7.
