A 52-year-old man was accused for illegal turkey hunting in Bloomfield.
Mark Zanawich was charged with fourth-degree negligent hunting and illegally turkey hunting with the use of artificial bait on Wednesday after an incident at the Bloomfield Game Club property on Terry Plains Road.
Police said Zanawich “allegedly baiting turkeys with cracked corn, a practice which is prohibited, and did not have any permits to hunt wild turkey.”
Zanawich is expected to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Monday.
Wednesday marked the opening of wild turkey hunting in Connecticut.
